Licensing
Thanks for visiting the PixelGirl Media website. All content on this site remains the copyright of PixelGirl Media. Our media is sold through various distributor sites (you can find the list here). You should carefully read and adhere to the licensing and terms of use agreements of the company from which you purchase the media.
In addition to these agreements, PixelGirl Media does not allow content to be shared on video sharing sites such as Youtube, Vimeo, or other social networking sites such as Facebook, etc. Why you ask? Most of these sites claim that they have use of the content submitted to their sites for pretty much whatever purpose they want, some even claim they own the content once it is submitted. If you have incorporated a stock footage clip or animation into a larger video, then this maybe shared online. Individual standalone clips may not be shared without following the guidelines below.
Sharing a preview of the content on your own personal website or blog is okay as long as it is a flash based preview and the size of the preview is no larger than 472×240 pixels. Also content should not be down-loadable. The easiest way to share PixelGirl Media is to go to Revostock.com and download a watermarked comp of the file. This gives you a small sized file that’s perfect for using in your projects as a placeholder as you decide what clips to purchase and also for sharing with your friends.
So maybe you think this all sounds a bit too strict, but please double check those license agreements next time you purchase a video or share your own video online. Others may be taking control of your content in ways you don’t desire them to.
Thanks,
PixelGirl Media
