I’ve been looking for some cool effects to use on the title/credit sequence for this upcoming project I have (see previous post).  I found this tutorial on halftone effects over at Harry Franks “Graymachine” blog. I decided to try out the effect on a pic of my jack russell. This tutorial was super easy to follow and uses Trapcode’s Particular plug-in (one of my fav plug-ins!).  Here’s my result from about 10 minutes worth of work. I think this basic idea might work with a little tweaking and maybe some cool color techniques added.

Just a quick update- Christmas collection is coming along quite well. I hope to begin distributing it towards the end of the week. This year’s collection contains a lot of traditional themes with my own contemporary twist to them. There’s also a lot of sparkly pretty stuff as well! There’s a little teaser of some of the stills in the right side bar.  I love Christmas time! So glad it’s almost here!

In other news I’m going to be working on a video for a local charity here in Scotland soon. The Haven is a drug and alcohol rehab center here. They’ve been around for quite a while now and I’ll be working with them to put together a video production of a live drama that they have been performing.  I’ll post some pics when it’s finished. I’m looking into different ideas for the graphical treatment of the titles and credits so I might post my trials of those along the way.
